Your skin is unique....
With the number of products in the market, tips from many influencers and conflicting advice, caring for it can feel overwhelming sometimes.
When it comes to achieving a healthy skin, it's all about understanding what your skin needs
Today, I'm here to answer all your frequently asked questions, whether you’re just starting out or want to fine-tune your routine, I hope it helps!
What is the best skincare routine for my skin type?
The best skincare routine depends on your skin type, as each type has different needs. I highly recommend visiting a professional to be sure of your skin type.
For oily skin, the goal is to control excess oil while keeping your skin hydrated. This can be achieved by using gentle cleansers with salicylic acid, using light weight moisturizers to avoid clogging your pores and using SPF of at least 30 daily to avoid sun damage.
For dry skin, the goal is to keep your skin hydrated. You can achieve this by using hydrating cleansers that won’t strip moisture from your skin, add hyaluronic acid serum to lock in moisture and use rich moisturizers to deeply nourish your skin.
For combination skin, the goal is to maintain a balance. Use a gentle, gel-based cleanser to remove impurities without over-drying and moisturize your skin to lock in the moisture. Use a broad spectrum sunscreen daily with an SPF of atleast 30.
How can I prevent breakouts and acne?
Acne is a common concern for both teens and adults.
Your skin naturally produces oil (sebum) to keep it moisturized but when produced in excess, it can mix with dead skin cells and clog your pores, leading to acne.
To combat acne, start by using a gentle, salicylic acid-based cleanser. You can use targeted treatments depending on what your esthetician has recommended for you. Choose non-comedogenic light weight moisturizers to hydrate without clogging pores. Many acne treatments make the skin sensitive to the sun so ensure you use your sunscreen daily!
Is using a sunscreen daily necessary?
Using SPF whether indoors or outdoors is the secret to great skin!
Sunscreen protects your skin from harmful UV rays, which can cause premature aging, sunburn, and increase the risk of skin cancer.
Even on cloudy days or when indoors, UV rays can penetrate through windows, causing long-term damage.
Daily sunscreen use also helps prevent hyperpigmentation, dark spots, and reduces the chances of skin irritation, especially if you're using acne treatments or exfoliating products that make your skin more sensitive.
How often should I cleanse, exfoliate, and moisturize?
You should cleanse your face every evening. You can also double cleanse (morning and evening) if you work out in the morning. This helps remove dirt, oil, makeup, and impurities accumulated throughout the day.
If you have very dry or sensitive skin, you should use a gentle cleanser to ensure you don't strip your face off it's natural oils.
Exfoliate 1-3 times a week, depending on your skin type. For oily acne prone skin, you can exfoliate 2-3 times a week but if your skin is dry or sensitive, stick to gentler exfoliation once a week to avoid irritation.
Moisturize twice daily—after cleansing in the morning and before bed. This will help you lock in moisture and support your skin’s barrier function. Even oily or acne-prone skin needs moisturizing; opt for lightweight, non-comedogenic options.
How frequently should I get a facial?
The frequency of facials depends on your skin type, concerns, and overall skincare goals, but a general guideline is to schedule a facial every 4 weeks.
This allows for effective skin renewal and keeps your skin balanced, especially if you’re dealing with specific issues like acne, dryness, or signs of aging.
For those undergoing targeted treatments, more frequents are recommended (depending on your esthetician)

From Mile 1 to Mile 26: My Chicago Marathon Experience
On October 13th, the Chicago Marathon—one of the Abbott World Majors—took place, and guess what? I was there! All those early morning runs, injuries, schedule changes, questionable diet choices, and saying goodbye to my social life all led to that day. My first marathon was a true test of endurance. I’ve got tons of stories, from how I mentally checked out at mile 16, to the point at mile 24 where I was convinced I was running backward. But despite it all, I’m incredibly grateful to have finished injury-free (which, trust me, not everyone can say).
Most importantly, I want to give a huge thank you to our amazing clients for all your support and patience with my crazy run schedule. So, will I do it again? Oh yeah! I’m already signing up for the next one .
